Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game Enters the Avatar State
Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game’s Avatar State Patch introduces rebalanced fighters, new art, and expanded modes, including two reimagined fighters and Ranked Mode 2.0.
The Avatar State Patch for *Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game* launches today on Xbox Series X|S, marking the largest update since release. It features refreshed menus, two newly reimagined fighters, Ranked Mode 2.0, and quality-of-life improvements across story, versus, and online play. Every fighter on the roster has undergone balance adjustments, addressing feedback from the community since the game’s launch with 12 characters from *Avatar: The Last Airbender* and *The Legend of Korra*.
Two fighters take center stage in this update: Avatar Aang and Nightmare Korra. Aang’s Avatar State emphasizes overwhelming power, with visual cues like lighting from below and a new Level 4 super featuring Avatar Roku. Nightmare Korra, inspired by her dark reflection in *The Legend of Korra*, contrasts slow, deliberate movements with explosive attacks and striking visual effects, including mercury-themed supers.
Gameplay adjustments include Azula’s Ambition’s Spark now tracking opponents more closely and Sokka’s sword techniques gaining new cancel options with Master Piandao’s support. The patch also introduces Roku’s Inferno as Aang’s new super, transforming him into Roku to engulf the battlefield in flames. Full patch notes are available on the Paramount Games site.
Players who pre-ordered or upgraded to the Deluxe Edition can vote on the fifth Year 1 Pass fighter. Candidates include Iroh, Ty Lee, Lin Beifong, and Bolin, with voting open for one month via the main menu. The Standard Edition costs $29.99, while the Deluxe Edition with the Year 1 Pass is $49.99.
