Gears of War: E-Day and Gibson Unite for a Custom Guitar Collection
Gibson Guitars and The Coalition unveiled a limited-edition custom guitar collection inspired by Marcus Fenix and Dominic Santiago from Gears of War: E-Day, featuring hand-painted designs by artist Luke Preece.
Gibson Guitars and The Coalition have partnered to create a custom guitar collection celebrating the Gears of War franchise ahead of the game’s launch. The collaboration includes two handcrafted guitars—a Les Paul and an SG—each featuring artwork by artist Luke Preece, inspired by Marcus Fenix and Dominic Santiago. The instruments draw from the game’s themes of brotherhood, resilience, and sacrifice, with designs reflecting the franchise’s signature imagery. Three guitars will be awarded in a giveaway, with entries open to fans in supported regions via Instagram.
The Marcus Fenix-inspired Les Paul features a weathered skull, COG Tag backdrop, and chainsaw blades, evoking the chaos of Emergence Day. Artist Luke Preece noted the design’s aggressive energy, which aligned with the guitar’s shape. The Dominic Santiago-inspired SG includes a tearful skull, barbed wire, and crimson poppies, symbolizing Dom’s loyalty and emotional journey. Both guitars were digitally mapped and hand-painted, with each detail crafted to capture the spirit of Gears of War.
The collection will debut publicly at the Xbox booth during Gamescom 2026 in Cologne, Germany. Only four guitars were produced, each numbered and signed, with hand-painted designs ensuring no two are identical. Studio Brand Director Nicole Fawcette emphasized the guitars’ dual role as functional instruments and works of art, highlighting their visual impact and craftsmanship.
Fans can enter the giveaway starting today by commenting on the announcement post on Instagram, tagging Gears of War: E-Day companions and using the hashtag #GearsofWarGibsonSweepstakes. Winners will be selected at random and announced on October 16, 2026. The collaboration offers a rare opportunity for collectors and fans to own a piece of Gears of War history ahead of the game’s release.
