The controller features a battle-worn design with laser-etched details, red glowing cracks, and a transparent red X button, reflecting the devastation of Emergence Day. A COG tag on the battery door and textured grips enhance its thematic design, aimed at fans seeking a piece of the Gears universe for their setup.

Starting September 30, players can use Xbox Design Lab to create their own Gears of War: E-Day controller, featuring artwork by Luke Preece. The customizable controller includes options like metallic triggers, rubberized grips, and personalized engravings, allowing fans to tailor the design to their preferences. The centerpiece artwork depicts a skull atop crossed Lancers, surrounded by battle-worn elements inspired by the conflict between the COG and Locust Horde.

An accompanying accessory, the 8BitDo Ultimate Charging Dock for Xbox Controllers – Gears of War: E-Day, will be available for Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One wireless controllers.
