New tools to power your creation journey from start to finish
YouTube introduced new tools across Studio, Shorts, and Create to assist creators with research, editing, and community management, including AI-driven features for thumbnails, A/B testing, and comment moderation.
YouTube announced a suite of new tools designed to support creators throughout the entire video production process, from concept development to thumbnail design and performance analysis. The updates span YouTube Studio on web and mobile, introducing Insights and Research destinations to help creators analyze past performance and identify high-performing content for inspiration. A new feedback feature provides personalized advice on pacing, structure, and storytelling for draft videos, while dynamic thumbnails allow creators to test up to three options to determine audience preferences.
The platform also expanded its A/B testing capabilities, enabling creators to test up to three video cuts to identify the most effective hooks, building on the over 40 million experiments run since the feature’s official launch in 2024. Ask Studio can now review older videos to suggest and test refreshed thumbnails, helping classic content reach new audiences. Additionally, YouTube integrated Gemini Omni’s intelligence into Shorts and the YouTube Create app, with hundreds of thousands of channels using it daily in August 2026.
A new conversational editing assistant powered by Gemini is being introduced for Shorts and the YouTube Create app, allowing creators to draft videos using prompts or their own ideas. The tool provides personalized suggestions for reordering frames, trimming clips, and syncing music to the beat, enabling iterative editing. Creators can switch between the AI assistant and manual editing to refine their videos, streamlining the creative process while maintaining control over the final output.
To enhance community management, YouTube is testing opt-in AI-powered comment moderation that learns a channel’s unique moderation style over time, shaping comment sections to reflect community values. The platform also expanded automated deepfake detection, with billions of channels eligible to sign up, and introduced a likeness detection tool for visual and voice protection. Later in 2024, speaking voice detection will be integrated with facial detection to improve accuracy, and likeness detection will become accessible directly in the YouTube mobile app for on-the-go management.
