OpenAI introduced three new models—Sol, Terra, and Luna—on July 9 as part of its GPT-5.6 generation, designed to reduce the need for repeated context in ChatGPT. These models are now available on Zapier, enabling users to connect them securely to existing apps through automated workflows called Zaps. The integration supports tasks such as summarizing sales calls, generating drafts, and analyzing visual data, streamlining workflows across teams. Users can choose models based on complexity and cost, with GPT-4o mini remaining free and GPT-5.6 Sol offering advanced capabilities at a higher price.
Zapier highlights practical applications for the new models, including automating lead nurturing in sales and marketing. For instance, Zaps can log lead activity from pricing pages or live chats, add them to CRM systems, and generate AI-written summaries or pitches. Another use case involves Gong’s conversation intelligence, where Zaps automate call analysis to provide personalized coaching for sales teams. These workflows aim to save time and improve efficiency by reducing manual tasks.
The ChatGPT integration also enhances content creation workflows by automating the generation of blog outlines, emails, and articles. Users can pull data from apps like Airtable or Google Forms, have AI draft content, and save it to Google Docs for review. For customer support, Zaps can generate email or SMS responses based on incoming messages, storing drafts in Gmail for approval before sending. These automations reduce repetitive writing tasks and accelerate content production.
Visual content creation and analysis are further supported through the integration. Users can generate images from briefs stored in Google Sheets or Airtable using GPT Image 1, with Zaps automating the process. Alternatively, the integration can extract and interpret data from uploaded images, such as graphs or tables, delivering analysis to Slack or Google Sheets. These features cater to teams needing quick visuals or data insights without requiring advanced design or analytical skills.
