AgentCore payments is now generally available in Amazon Bedrock AgentCore

Amazon Web Services announced the general availability of AgentCore payments, a feature within Amazon Bedrock AgentCore designed to allow AI agents to autonomously discover, access, and pay for paid APIs, MCPs, and content with minimal code. The capability includes security controls, guardrails, and observability features to support enterprise deployment of transacting agents at scale. Integration with Coinbase and Stripe Privy wallets enables microtransactions, while payment orchestration spans multiple protocols and enforces configurable payment limits at the infrastructure layer.

At launch, AgentCore payments introduces Quick Create for Coinbase credential provisioning directly in the AgentCore console, a curated Coinbase Bazar MCP server offering pay-per-use x402 endpoints via the AgentCore gateway, and support for the Machine Payment Protocol (MPP). The feature also includes the 'upto' scheme in the x402 protocol to support pay-per-inference and dynamic pricing scenarios. Developers can begin using the capability through coding assistants like Claude Code, Kiro, and Codex, the AgentCore CLI, or the AWS Management Console.

The general availability release follows the initial preview of AgentCore payments, which included foundational payment orchestration and security features. AWS states that the capability is now production-ready for enterprises requiring autonomous transaction handling by AI agents. Observability is provided through AgentCore Observability, offering end-to-end tracking of payment activities and agent interactions.

AgentCore payments is available in select AWS regions, with documentation and pricing details accessible via the AgentCore payments documentation, AWS News Blog, and AgentCore pricing page. The feature is positioned as a solution for developers building AI agents that require integrated payment capabilities without manual intervention.
