Amazon Bedrock AgentCore CLI version 1.0 is now available
AWS released Amazon Bedrock AgentCore CLI version 1.0, enhancing terminal-based AI agent development with faster startup, unified commands, and expanded resource support for streamlined operations.
AWS has announced the general availability of Amazon Bedrock AgentCore CLI version 1.0, a command-line interface designed to assist developers in creating, deploying, and managing AI agents and their supporting resources directly from the terminal. The update introduces faster startup times and a consistent command structure, improving usability and efficiency for development workflows. Developers can now interact with harnesses, runtimes, memory, identity, gateways, and payments without requiring prior project setup, enabling more flexible and immediate resource management.
Version 1.0 expands functionality by allowing developers to invoke existing resources using their unique identifiers or ARNs, open interactive shells for real-time interaction, and export harness configurations for reuse. The CLI also introduces searchable menus, resource pickers, and guided workflows to simplify navigation and reduce manual configuration steps. Consistent global flags across commands provide standardized options for region selection, JSON output formatting, debugging, and version information, ensuring a uniform experience.
Existing projects can be migrated to AgentCore version 1.0 using the dedicated agentcore migrate command, facilitating a smooth transition to the updated toolset. This migration capability helps teams adopt the new features without disrupting ongoing development processes. The update also maintains backward compatibility, ensuring continuity for projects already in progress.
Developers can install the AgentCore CLI version 1.0 directly from npm or explore the open-source codebase on GitHub. Additional resources, including the Amazon Bedrock AgentCore product page, CLI reference documentation, and a getting-started guide, are available to support implementation and adoption.
