Google is expanding AI Mode ads to 10 new countries, including Canada and India.

Google announced that ads will now appear within AI Mode search results in Australia, Canada, India, Kenya, Malaysia, New Zealand, Nigeria, Pakistan, the Philippines, and Singapore. The company stated that AI Mode queries average three times longer than traditional searches, enabling better matching between user intent and advertised products or services. Google also noted that click-through rates for sponsored and organic results within AI Mode are already comparable, indicating user acceptance of ads in this format.

In the United States, Google will introduce multiturn ads in AI Mode, allowing advertisements to persist across follow-up queries within the same session. These ads will be clearly labeled as “Sponsored” to maintain transparency for users. The feature is designed to provide continuity in ad relevance as conversations evolve during a search session.

Google plans to further expand ads in AI Mode to Brazil, Mexico, and the United Kingdom in the fourth quarter of 2026, as part of a phased rollout to additional markets. The company emphasized that it will continue testing new ad formats to ensure they remain useful and aligned with user needs in AI-driven search environments.

The expansion follows Google’s observation that users are increasingly adopting conversational search queries in AI Mode, which now account for a significant share of total searches. By integrating ads into this mode, Google aims to deliver more targeted and contextually relevant advertising while maintaining a seamless user experience.
