Amazon Web Services announced price reductions for two OpenAI models on its Bedrock platform, effective July 30, 2026. On-demand inference for GPT‑5.6 Luna will drop by 80%, while GPT‑5.6 Terra prices will fall by 20%. These adjustments mirror OpenAI’s own pricing updates for the same models. GPT‑5.6 Sol will retain its existing pricing. The changes apply automatically without customer intervention.

GPT‑5.6 Luna is designed for high-volume, tool-enabled workflows such as content processing, classification, and customer-service automation. GPT‑5.6 Terra targets everyday production workloads requiring stronger reasoning while balancing speed and cost. The price cuts aim to expand access to these capabilities across more applications and larger workloads.

Customers can now process more tasks at a lower cost per completion, improving efficiency for routine and complex workflows alike. The updated pricing applies to existing and new deployments without additional setup. No action is required from users to benefit from the reductions.

The models are available in three AWS regions: US East (N. Virginia), US East (Ohio), and US West (Oregon), accessible via the OpenAI Responses API on the bedrock-mantle endpoint. Documentation and pricing details are available on the Amazon Bedrock model and pricing pages.
