Amazon Bedrock expands Claude model availability to India, South Korea, and Singapore
Amazon Bedrock now offers Anthropic’s Claude models in India, South Korea, and Singapore, enabling in-region inference for regulated industries requiring localized data processing.
Amazon Bedrock has expanded access to Anthropic’s latest Claude models—Opus 5, Sonnet 5, and Haiku 4.5—across India, South Korea, and Singapore. The update allows customers in these regions to deploy models while keeping inference requests and data within the same geographic boundaries. This capability is particularly relevant for sectors such as financial services, healthcare, and public administration, where regulatory compliance often mandates in-country data handling.
In India, the models are accessible through a regional endpoint that supports geographic cross-Region inference between the Mumbai and Hyderabad AWS Regions. Customers can now process data locally while leveraging these models, complementing the existing global cross-Region inference options already available. The regional endpoint ensures that inference requests remain within Indian data centers, aligning with local data residency requirements.
South Korea now supports in-region inference for Claude Opus 5 and Sonnet 5 on the bedrock-runtime endpoint within the Seoul (ap-northeast-2) Region. This enables Korean customers to run inference locally without data leaving the country, addressing compliance needs for industries handling sensitive information. The models are integrated into Amazon Bedrock’s existing infrastructure in the region.
Singapore has also added support for in-region inference of Claude Sonnet 5 on the bedrock-runtime endpoint in the Singapore (ap-southeast-1) Region. The deployment ensures that inference processing and data storage occur within Singapore’s borders, providing a compliant solution for organizations operating under regional data protection frameworks. Customers can access the model while maintaining full control over data residency.
