Amazon MSK Connect and AWS Glue Schema Registry are now available in the AWS European Sovereign Cloud (Germany) region
Amazon MSK Connect and AWS Glue Schema Registry are now accessible in the AWS European Sovereign Cloud (Germany) region, expanding managed Kafka tooling for streaming workloads.
Amazon MSK Connect is now available in the AWS European Sovereign Cloud (Germany) region, enabling customers to deploy fully managed Kafka Connect clusters without provisioning infrastructure. The service automates scaling and uses pay-as-you-go pricing while facilitating data movement between Apache Kafka and external systems such as databases or search indices. This addition complements existing Amazon MSK Standard brokers already offered in the region.
The AWS Glue Schema Registry, a serverless feature of AWS Glue, is also launching in the AWS European Sovereign Cloud (Germany) region. It allows users to validate and govern streaming data formats including Apache Avro, JSON, and Protobuf through a centralized repository. The registry reduces redundant validation logic and cross-team coordination while supporting integration with C# and Java applications.
Together, these services provide a more complete toolset for customers running streaming workloads on the AWS European Sovereign Cloud (Germany) region. MSK Connect and the Glue Schema Registry address operational gaps in building, connecting, and governing Apache Kafka applications within the region’s sovereign cloud environment.
Customers can now access documentation for Amazon MSK Connect and AWS Glue Schema Registry to begin implementation. The services are designed to simplify data pipeline management and schema governance for decoupled applications in the specified region.
