Amazon RDS for Oracle now offers Reserved Instances for R8i and M8i instances

These instances provide up to 53% cost savings compared to On-Demand prices, along with up to 15% better price-performance and 2.5x more memory bandwidth than previous-generation Intel-based instances in the cloud. The announcement applies to both Multi-AZ and Single-AZ configurations, offering flexibility for production workloads.
Reserved Instances for Amazon RDS for Oracle now include size flexibility under the Bring Your Own License (BYOL) model, allowing the discounted rate to apply automatically to any database size within the same instance family. Customers can transition between Multi-AZ and Single-AZ configurations without losing the Reserved Instance benefit, making it easier to adapt to changing workload demands. This feature is designed to optimize costs while maintaining performance for Oracle database deployments.
The new Reserved Instances are available in all AWS regions where R8i and M8i instances are offered, with the exception of the South America (São Paulo) Region.
