Amazon Web Services announced that AWS Glue now includes a one-click integration to launch Amazon SageMaker Unified Studio directly from the Glue console. This feature allows users to transition immediately from catalog browsing or ETL job construction to data analysis and model development in SageMaker Unified Studio. The integration supports access from multiple AWS data services consoles, including S3 Tables, Athena, EMR, Redshift, and Glue. Users can continue working under the same IAM role without additional authentication steps.

The update simplifies workflows for data engineers and analysts by eliminating the need to navigate between consoles. SageMaker Notebooks can be opened directly from the Glue console, enabling users to query data or run analyses using their existing permissions. The feature is designed to reduce friction for teams already familiar with the Glue interface, allowing them to leverage SageMaker’s broader AI and data capabilities without disruption.

For customers who have not yet configured SageMaker Unified Studio, AWS introduced an inline permissions panel within the Glue console setup workflow. This panel guides users through creating and adjusting IAM policies directly, avoiding the need to visit the IAM console separately. The process allows customization of permissions in-context, streamlining the onboarding experience for new SageMaker users.

The feature is available in all AWS Regions where Amazon SageMaker Unified Studio is supported. To begin using the integration, users can navigate to the AWS Glue console and access SageMaker Unified Studio with a single click. AWS did not disclose pricing or additional costs associated with this feature.
