AWS Parallel Computing Service is now in scope for FedRAMP, SOC, ISO, CSA STAR, and PCI
AWS Parallel Computing Service (PCS) now meets FedRAMP, SOC, ISO, CSA STAR, and PCI compliance standards, enabling regulated organizations to run sensitive HPC workloads on AWS while adhering to governance requirements.
AWS Parallel Computing Service (PCS), a managed service for running high performance computing (HPC) workloads using Slurm, has expanded its compliance coverage to include FedRAMP Class C and Class D, SOC 1, 2, and 3 reports, ISO certification, CSA STAR certification, and PCI DSS and 3DS attestations. The service is now approved for use by federal agencies, public sector organizations, and enterprises handling regulated workloads in specified AWS Regions, including AWS GovCloud (US).
The addition of FedRAMP compliance allows PCS to support mission-critical workloads in US East (Ohio), US East (N. Virginia), and US West (Oregon) under the Class C baseline, while AWS GovCloud (US) Regions support the stricter Class D baseline. SOC reports provide independent validation of PCS’s control effectiveness, ensuring alignment with industry standards for security and operational practices.
PCS has also achieved ISO certification and CSA STAR certification under CCM 4.0, further demonstrating adherence to international security frameworks. For organizations processing payment card data, PCS is included in AWS’s PCI DSS and PCI 3DS attestations of compliance, enabling secure handling of such workloads.
PCS remains HIPAA eligible, allowing healthcare and life sciences organizations to use the service for workloads involving protected health information.
