AWS Well-Architected Agent is now available in preview
AWS launched a preview of the AI-driven Well-Architected Agent to automate infrastructure reviews and prioritize fixes across cost, security, performance, and reliability using business goals.
Amazon Web Services introduced the AWS Well-Architected Agent in preview, an AI-powered service designed to replace and expand on AWS Trusted Advisor and the Well-Architected Tool. The agent evaluates infrastructure across cost, security, performance, and reliability, then provides prioritized recommendations aligned with defined business objectives. It correlates metrics and application topology against best practices and analyzes infrastructure-as-code templates to suggest automation-ready fixes.
The service delivers recommendations ranked by impact and effort at resource, application, and architecture levels, enabling teams to act quickly. For instance, a team focused on reliability can receive guidance to implement multi-AZ failover for a critical database, complete with an SSM runbook for automated configuration and a cross-pillar analysis of cost and performance impacts before deployment.
AWS Well-Architected Agent offers prescriptive fixes through SSM runbooks, CLI scripts, and guided console walkthroughs to accelerate implementation. It also automates reviews of Terraform, CloudFormation, and CDK templates, identifying misalignments with best practices and returning the necessary code changes for correction.
Access to the agent and its recommendations is available in US East (N. Virginia), US East (Ohio), and US West (Oregon), with workloads from any AWS commercial Region eligible for onboarding. The service is delivered by AWS Support and requires an AWS Support plan for customer access.
