Gemma 4 models are now available on Amazon Bedrock in AWS GovCloud (US-West)
Amazon Web Services announced the availability of Google DeepMind’s Gemma 4 family of open-weight models on Amazon Bedrock in AWS GovCloud (US-West).

The smallest model, Gemma 4 E2B, is designed for interactive applications requiring minimal delay. Amazon Bedrock introduces new features to enhance the Gemma 4 models, including improved tool calling, structured output, reasoning capabilities, and response streaming. These updates aim to improve reliability and performance for generative AI applications built on open-source models. The announcement applies specifically to AWS GovCloud (US-West), a region designed to meet stringent compliance and security requirements for U.S. government agencies and regulated industries.
