Amazon Bedrock AgentCore’s Web Search tool now supports runtime domain filtering, allowing agents to include or exclude specific domains in each search call without administrative changes. This feature provides per-request control over trusted sources, which is particularly useful for regulated industries requiring strict source validation. Published-date filtering has also been added, enabling agents to constrain results to a defined time window using inclusive date bounds. Together, these features ensure responses are both relevant and current.
Agents can now pass include and exclude domain lists directly in tool calls, while administrators can manage gateway-level allowlists and increase domain caps to 100 per list. These enhancements are designed for workflows that demand precise control over information sources and recency, such as research or compliance-driven applications. The changes reduce the need for manual configuration and streamline agent operations.
The Web Search tool is expanding to additional AWS regions, including Europe (Ireland) and Asia Pacific (Tokyo), in addition to the existing US East (N. Virginia) availability.
