Autodesk unveiled new AI-driven tools at SIGGRAPH 2026 to streamline animation and VFX workflows in Maya, 3ds Max, Flow Production Tracking, and Arnold, targeting common production bottlenecks.

Autodesk introduced MotionMaker in Maya, which now supports Bring Your Own Data, allowing artists to train custom generative motion models using their own rigs and animation datasets. The feature enables teams to generate foundational motion that can be refined with familiar Maya tools, reducing repetitive work and accelerating early-stage animation. Sheridan College’s SIRT has already adopted the tool to capture stylized performances and train reusable models, demonstrating practical benefits for small teams.
3ds Max now fully supports editable 3D Gaussian Splats (3DGS), a format that accurately represents real-world objects and environments. Artists can integrate captured data into traditional workflows, edit points with custom attributes, and refine AI-generated scenes from tools like World Labs Marble. Native 3DGS rendering in Arnold allows precise control over lighting, shading, and color for final output, bridging AI-assisted creation with traditional pipelines.
Flow Production Tracking introduces a unified review experience, enabling post-production teams to review media, compare versions, and collaborate in real time within a single environment. The system supports synchronized sessions with multi-user control for playback, annotations, and feedback, accommodating remote and on-site participants, including those using RV.
Arnold interactive viewport rendering in Maya provides immediate visual feedback as artists adjust lighting, materials, and scene composition. The feature shortens iteration cycles by allowing real-time previews of Arnold-rendered results directly in the viewport, helping artists explore creative options and refine complex scenes before final rendering.
