CISA Kicks Off Critical Infrastructure Security and Resilience Month 2026
CISA launched Critical Infrastructure Security and Resilience Month 2026 to highlight the systems and workers sustaining national operations amid evolving threats, including those from advanced technologies.
The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) today marked the start of Critical Infrastructure Security and Resilience Month, emphasizing the nation’s essential systems and the operators who maintain them. This year’s observance aligns with President Trump’s National Resilience Strategy, reflecting growing concerns over emerging threats, including those fueled by technological advancements like super intelligence. The initiative underscores the critical role of frontline workers who sustain essential services during disruptions, ensuring continuity even as risks evolve.
Acting CISA Director Nick Andersen emphasized the importance of preparedness, stating that resilience stems from understanding key systems and having actionable plans for when disruptions occur. The agency stressed that collective efforts are necessary to strengthen resilience across critical infrastructure sectors. Strong resilience not only protects lives and livelihoods but also preserves community connectivity and minimizes operational disruptions during crises.
Critical Infrastructure Security and Resilience Month encourages collaboration among American industry, state and local governments, and federal agencies to bolster national security and economic stability. Participants are provided with a toolkit by CISA, featuring graphics and plain-language resources to help organizations showcase their resilience efforts throughout November.
As the national coordinator for critical infrastructure security, CISA leads nationwide efforts to identify, assess, and mitigate risks to both digital and physical infrastructure. The agency called on all stakeholders to engage in the month-long initiative, directing them to CISA.gov for additional resources and updates on social media platforms.
