The Genie One MCP is now Generally Available

The Genie One MCP server is now generally available to all Databricks users, providing a standardized way for any AI agent to retrieve structured and unstructured data, insights, and answers from Genie One. Grounded in Genie Ontology, the MCP ensures agents access a unified business context across tables, documents, and tools, reducing fragmented definitions and conflicting responses. It operates as a managed service within Unity Gateway, offering centralized governance, fine-grained policies, and audit logging for every interaction.

The MCP exposes tools for agents to ask questions, retrieve results, monitor progress, and refine responses, while the Genie One MCP App enables real-time embedding of Genie One’s processes with interactive visualizations and citations. This integration allows users to incorporate Genie One as a data-smart coworker into existing agent workflows without altering their current processes. By serving as a single governed entry point, the MCP addresses the challenges of agent sprawl and inconsistent interpretations of enterprise data.

Connected agent clients automatically leverage Genie Ontology to interpret domain semantics, bridging structured relational data and unstructured repositories without custom connectors. The unified interface ensures consistent answers across agents like Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, or internal tools, all governed by a single enterprise context layer.
