Ethereum Foundation Board Update
The Ethereum Foundation announced pcaversaccio has joined its board for a one-year term, expanding the oversight group alongside Aya Miyaguchi, Vitalik Buterin, and Patrick Storchenegger.
The Ethereum Foundation Board has added pcaversaccio, a long-standing contributor to the ecosystem, to its ranks. pcaversaccio co-founded SEAL 911, participated in the EF’s Silviculture Society, and authored works such as The Ethereum Cypherpunk Manifesto and Ethereum Privacy: The Road to Self-Sovereignty. The appointment follows the EF Mandate released earlier this year, which outlines the board’s role in aligning strategy with the Foundation’s core values of censorship resistance, open source principles, privacy, and security.
The board now consists of Aya Miyaguchi (President), Vitalik Buterin (Founder), Patrick Storchenegger (Swiss counsel), and pcaversaccio. According to the EF Mandate, the board sets the Foundation’s vision and oversees high-level decisions to ensure alignment with its values. It also functions as a security council to safeguard the Foundation’s mission and ensure compliance as a Swiss foundation.
pcaversaccio’s appointment is for an initial one-year term and is on a voluntary basis. The move reflects the Foundation’s commitment to strengthening governance while preserving its decentralized ethos. The board’s expanded membership aims to reinforce oversight of strategic decisions and long-term stewardship of Ethereum.
The addition of pcaversaccio follows the release of the EF Mandate in 2025, which formalized the board’s responsibilities. The Foundation emphasized that the board’s role includes protecting the core values of the organization while ensuring compliance with Swiss foundation regulations.
