Budkowski’s career highlights include contributing to Lewis Hamilton’s 2008 World Championship with McLaren and playing a key role in introducing the halo safety device at the FIA in 2018. His tenure at Renault, later rebranded as Alpine, saw the team secure its first Grand Prix win in 2021 under Esteban Ocon, finishing fifth in the Constructors’ Championship. However, he left Alpine in early 2022 as part of a broader restructuring. His return to Formula 1 as Team Principal represents his most prominent role in the sport to date.
