CI Games secures $32 million loan to finish and self-publish Lords of the Fallen 2
CI Games secured a €28.6 million loan to complete and self-publish Lords of the Fallen II, replacing Epic Games' PC publishing role and refinancing existing debt.
CI Games has finalized a €28.6 million syndicated credit facility to fund the remaining production and global marketing for Lords of the Fallen II, now planned for a Q1 2027 release. The loan, arranged with Erste Bank Polska and Bank Ochrony Środowiska, will also refinance all existing bank debt. Polish export credit agency KUKE guarantees 80% of the facility, which matures in August 2027. The studio expects repayment primarily from game sales.
The financing announcement follows the termination of CI Games' PC publishing agreement with Epic Games, which had been set to make the game exclusive to the Epic Games Store. The split took effect on April 14 but was undisclosed for over a month. CI Games confirmed the move would not impact its ongoing collaboration with Epic, including Unreal Engine usage. The company is now self-publishing Lords of the Fallen II, avoiding revenue-sharing with an external publisher.
CI Games CEO and president Marek Tymiński emphasized the deal ensures full financing without issuing new shares, preserving shareholder participation in potential success. Tymiński, who is also the largest shareholder, committed to maintaining his entire stake throughout the financing period. He stated confidence in the game's potential, highlighting the significance of self-financing for the project.
Lords of the Fallen II is being developed as a PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S title. CI Games previously disclosed that the original Lords of the Fallen was its most expensive project, with total costs of $66.2 million. The studio plans to announce an exact release date for the sequel in December.
