Meet Approach S72: Garmin’s ultimate golf smartwatch
Garmin has launched the Approach S72, a premium golf smartwatch with advanced health and golf-specific features, available in two sizes starting at $799.99.
Garmin unveiled the Approach S72, positioning it as its flagship golf smartwatch with a focus on both on-course performance and everyday health tracking. The device features a 43mm or 47mm AMOLED display, a lightweight ComfortFit fabric band, titanium bezel, and sapphire lens for durability and comfort during extended wear. Golfers can access real-time heart rate data and swing metrics to analyze performance changes before and after shots, while also receiving green contour insights for improved putting accuracy.
The smartwatch integrates biometric monitoring, including wrist-based heart rate, stress tracking, Body Battery energy monitoring, and advanced sleep analysis to provide a comprehensive health overview. It also includes preloaded activity profiles to support strength and mobility training, catering to golfers aiming to enhance overall fitness alongside their game. The device is designed for seamless transition between athletic and casual use, blending golf-specific tools with standard smartwatch functionality.
A new green contour feature, available with an active Garmin Golf Membership, displays putting direction and average slope percentage on select courses, helping golfers determine aim points more efficiently. This feature leverages data to provide practical insights, reducing reliance on subjective feel during play. The membership requirement ensures access to course-specific details, enhancing the watch’s utility for serious golfers.
The Approach S72 is priced starting at $799.99 and is available immediately. Garmin emphasizes the watch’s durability and comfort, targeting golfers who demand high-performance tools both on and off the course. The announcement underscores Garmin’s commitment to integrating advanced technology with practical applications for athletes and fitness enthusiasts.
