Google announced AI tools now support over 300 languages for 7 billion people, aiding disease detection, disaster prediction, education, and economic opportunity through global partnerships and research grants.
Google outlined its AI initiatives to accelerate scientific breakthroughs in health, disaster resilience, education, and economic opportunity. The company highlighted tools already in use, such as early disease detection, natural disaster prediction, and language translation, which are being deployed alongside experts worldwide to address global challenges.
A major milestone was reached with AI technologies now supporting more than 300 languages, covering 7 billion people or 86% of the global population. Google also introduced the AI & Economy ATLAS, an interactive tool providing insights into AI’s real-world economic impact, alongside recent AI advances in scientific research aimed at improving lives.
The company emphasized its focus on making disease detectable, treatable, and preventable, improving disaster prediction accuracy, expanding educational access, and unlocking economic opportunities. Google acknowledged that AI’s benefits are not automatic and require societal collaboration to mitigate risks and ensure equitable access.
Google detailed its commitment to responsible AI development, including partnerships with educators to provide AI literacy training to 6 million U.S. teachers and collaborations with research institutions. Since 2006, Google has contributed over $1 billion to 1,700+ research institutions, reinforcing its role in advancing scientific discovery and societal progress.
