Google Cloud expands model choice and flexibility, bringing OpenAI models to customers
Google Cloud integrates OpenAI’s latest models into its unified enterprise AI platform, expanding model choice and governance for customers.
Google Cloud announced the addition of OpenAI’s newest models to its model garden, positioning itself as the only hyperscale cloud provider offering access to all three leading closed-source large language models. The integration allows customers to dynamically select models based on performance, latency, and cost efficiency without vendor lock-in or separate contracts. Developers can now choose from over 200 models, including first-party, third-party, and open options, all managed through a single enterprise AI platform.
OpenAI models will be transacted via Google Cloud Marketplace, with all usage consolidated on a single invoice and applicable to existing cloud commitments and Flexible Savings Plans. This streamlines billing while maintaining enterprise-grade governance and compliance standards. The platform ensures that third-party or OpenAI workloads meet rigorous security and compliance requirements, aligning with enterprise needs.
The OpenAI models—GPT-6 Astra, GPT-6.1 Sol, and GPT-6 Luna—are rolling out in private preview to select enterprise customers within Google Cloud’s model garden. Customers can begin building with these models immediately through APIs, and local Codex CLI and Desktop workflows can connect directly to the Gemini platform for inference. Interested enterprises can express interest via a provided form.
OpenAI models will soon be available in Google Cloud’s Gemini for Business and Google Antigravity, further enhancing model choice flexibility for enterprise customers and developers. The expansion underscores Google Cloud’s commitment to providing the right model for each workload while maintaining enterprise-grade governance and cost efficiency.
