Expanding AI educator training to new countries
Google’s free AI Educator Series expands to five new countries, offering on-demand training to help teachers integrate AI tools into classrooms globally.
The Google AI Educator Series (GES) is launching in Spain, Brazil, Mexico, Australia, and sub-Saharan Africa, adding to existing programs in the U.S., India, Korea, Malaysia, the Philippines, and the U.K. & Ireland. The initiative provides no-cost, self-paced training designed to equip educators with practical AI skills they can apply immediately in their teaching. The expansion reflects growing global interest among teachers seeking innovative ways to address classroom challenges and personalize student learning. Regional launches will be supported by local education partners to ensure relevance and accessibility.
Teachers already using GES report that the training helps them save time on administrative tasks, create more engaging lessons, and better support diverse student needs. The program’s content is updated monthly based on educator feedback, ensuring the material remains current and useful. In November, new U.S. modules will focus on areas where educators most frequently request additional support, such as lesson planning and student assessment. The training is structured to fit into busy schedules without requiring significant time commitments.
The initiative was first piloted in the U.S. earlier this year before expanding to other regions, including a notable launch in Korea that included regional education officials and the President of Seoul National University of Education. The Korea launch event, held at a Google office, highlighted the program’s growing recognition among educational institutions. Educators in participating countries receive a digital badge upon completion, which they can share within a global community of practice. The badge serves as a credential for professional development in AI integration.
