Hyundai Motor Company announced the delivery of 11 electric buses to Bali on October 23, 2026, as part of the island’s first electric public transportation initiative. The 8-meter COUNTY EV buses were supplied by Hyundai, with bodies built by local manufacturer Laksana. The project is part of the Bali Sustainable Transportation System ODA Project, supported by South Korea’s Ministry of Climate, Energy and Environment, Indonesia’s Ministry of National Development Planning, and the Global Green Growth Institute.

The initiative aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and enhance Bali’s reputation as a sustainable tourism destination. Hyundai’s involvement follows a 2025 tender process led by GGGI, where Hyundai was selected based on vehicle quality, after-sales service, and experience in ODA projects. The company previously supplied 11 COUNTY EV buses for Surabaya’s public transport system in November 2024, demonstrating its growing presence in Indonesia’s electrification efforts.
