Hyundai Motor Group announced a collaboration with Korean electronic musician KIRARA to release 'Temper,' a track that interprets the company’s technology development process through music. The composition, titled 'Jeongryeon' in Korean, reflects the refinement of raw materials into finished vehicles, using synthesized textures and layered beats to mirror manufacturing precision. The track is available on the Group’s official YouTube channel, marking a novel effort to engage audiences through sensory storytelling. Hyundai described the project as a way to convey technological advancement in an accessible auditory format.
KIRARA, a prominent electronic artist since 2014, composed 'Temper' to evoke the transformation of materials into vehicles, drawing parallels between music production and industrial refinement. The piece opens with ambient sounds representing raw potential, evolving into structured beats that mirror the assembly process before concluding with clarity akin to a finished product. The track blends ambient techno elements, including glitch and breakbeat components, to reflect the complexity of modern manufacturing. Hyundai emphasized the collaboration as an innovative bridge between technology and art.
The collaboration follows KIRARA’s extensive career, which includes five studio albums and performances at major international events such as Pentaport Rock Festival, Venice Biennale, and SXSW. Known for blending 1990s British dance and 2000s Japanese electronic influences, KIRARA’s work often juxtaposes melancholy and euphoria. She composes live using a computer and MIDI controller, performing over 30 times annually across global venues. Hyundai highlighted her role in translating industrial processes into an artistic medium through 'Temper.'
Later in 2026, Hyundai plans to release a manufacturing technology video featuring the 'Temper' composition, further integrating the auditory experience with visual storytelling. The Group noted that while the information is accurate at release, updates may be provided as needed. Hyundai Motor Group operates globally across mobility, steel, construction, logistics, finance, IT, and services, employing approximately 250,000 people worldwide under brands including Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis.
