Hyundai Motor Group outlined its multi-technology mobility strategy at the Aachen Colloquium 2026, emphasizing electrification and hydrogen integration alongside AI-driven vehicle development.
Hyundai Motor Group is showcasing its future mobility vision and core technologies at the Aachen Automotive Colloquium 2026 in Germany, running from October 5 to 7. The event brings together global automakers, suppliers, and researchers to discuss vehicle technology and industry trends. The Group is presenting its growth strategy through keynote speeches, technical talks, an exhibition, and a test-drive program featuring hydrogen and electric vehicles.
Manfred Harrer, President and Head of R&D at Hyundai Motor Group, delivered a keynote on October 6 titled 'Beyond Boundaries: Scaling the Sustainable Future.' He introduced the Group’s xEV strategy covering electric, hybrid, extended-range electric, and fuel cell vehicles, highlighting how each technology addresses distinct market needs. Harrer also emphasized the role of AI and digital intelligence in reshaping vehicle development and competitiveness.
The Group’s technical presentations on October 7 focused on hydrogen fuel cell, electrification, and battery technologies. Speakers including Duckhwan Kim, Ki Young Jang, and Jeonghun Seo discussed technical challenges, scaling plans, and next-generation battery innovations. The sessions underscored the Group’s approach to advancing multiple electrification pathways simultaneously.
Attendees at the Aachen event can view exhibits on hydrogen production, storage, and next-generation battery systems, alongside a test-drive program featuring the All-New NEXO and GV60 MAGMA on an 11–12 kilometer route near the venue. The program allows direct experience of the Group’s hydrogen and electrification technologies.
