Hyundai Motor Company announced the European debut of its Future Mobility School (FMS) program in France, signing a Memorandum of Understanding with the Korean Education Center in Paris. The agreement was formalized at the Embassy of Korea in Paris, attended by officials including Sang-Myung Jung and Hyundai Motor Group’s Sung Kim. The initiative aims to educate young people about future mobility technologies and industry transformation through experiential learning. Hyundai described FMS as a program that has expanded globally since its 2016 launch, reaching over 2,700 schools and 110,000 students worldwide by the end of 2025.

The program’s expansion to France coincides with the 140th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Korea and France. Hyundai highlighted the growing interest in Korean language and culture in France, noting record demand for Korean education. In 2026, the Korean Education Center in France received 565 applicants for the TOPIK exam, the highest number since its introduction in 2005. As of 2025, 69 French schools offered Korean as a foreign language, teaching approximately 1,800 students, with enrollment tripling over five years.

Hyundai’s FMS initiative integrates Korean-language educational materials into its curriculum for the first time in Europe. The program combines future mobility education with foundational Korean language skills, allowing students to better understand Korean technological innovation. The pilot launch follows a 2025 program at the German School Seoul International, marking Hyundai’s first European expansion of the initiative. The company emphasized the program’s role in fostering cross-cultural understanding and mobility innovation between France and Korea.

The expansion reflects Hyundai Motor’s broader commitment to education and sustainable mobility solutions. The company, established in 1967, operates in over 200 countries with more than 120,000 employees. Hyundai noted its investments in advanced robotics, AI, and carbon reduction technologies as part of its vision to address global mobility challenges. The Future Mobility School program aligns with these efforts by preparing young learners for future industry demands.
