USDSM is available for trading!
Kraken has listed USDSM, a dollar-pegged stablecoin, for trading, enabling faster settlements and traditional banking connectivity for businesses.
Kraken has added USDSM to its trading platform, allowing users to deposit tokens via supported networks. Deposits made on unsupported networks will not be recoverable. The asset is designed for businesses seeking efficient payment infrastructure, enabling near-instant settlements between customers and merchants. This contrasts with traditional payment systems, which can take days to process transactions through multiple intermediaries.
Stable Mint, the underlying payment system, integrates regulated stablecoins with banking rails like SEPA and SWIFT. It supports conversions, payouts, and treasury management while offering optional branded checkout options for card, bank transfer, and pay-by-bank payments. USDSM is issued on Etherlink, an EVM-compatible Tezos Layer 2, and is also available on Ethereum, Base, and Arbitrum networks.
USDSM maintains a 1:1 peg to the US dollar, backed by cash and high-quality liquid assets held in segregated accounts. Holders can redeem tokens at par value on demand, a right guaranteed under the EU’s MiCA regulation. This ensures transparency and security, as assets are not lent, invested, or commingled with other funds.
Kraken has not disclosed future asset listings in advance, including potential additions to its platform. All available tokens are listed on Kraken’s website, and future additions will be announced via the Listings Roadmap and social media channels. The exchange’s client engagement team will not provide details on upcoming assets.
