Kuehne+Nagel inaugurated a new Tech Centre in Chennai, India, marking an expansion of its global engineering capabilities to support proprietary digital logistics solutions. The centre will enhance the company’s ability to develop and scale technologies that improve supply chain visibility, speed, and resilience. Chennai was chosen for its established business ecosystem and proven track record in supporting global operations. The new facility complements Kuehne+Nagel’s existing global technology footprint.

The Chennai Tech Centre will employ around 250 experts by early 2027, focusing on advancing global products such as SALOG, the company’s digital forwarding platform for managing sea and air freight shipments. The centre’s workforce build-up is supported by Accenture, which is assisting with recruitment and scaling operations. Christina Raab of Accenture highlighted the strategic partnership’s role in combining technology, operational capabilities, and local talent to strengthen the centre’s foundation.

Marcus Claesson, Chief Information Officer at Kuehne+Nagel, emphasized the importance of technology and digital capabilities in logistics. He stated that in-house development of core platforms enables faster innovation, global scaling, and continuous improvement of customer experience. The new Chennai Tech Centre is positioned to support the next generation of digital logistics solutions.
