Water replenishment efforts reached a milestone in fiscal year 2025, with Microsoft replenishing over 14 million cubic meters globally—more than it withdrew. The company now focuses on localized water restoration projects in water-stressed regions, prioritizing community partnerships and ecosystem resilience to ensure sustainable water use beyond global volume targets.
Transparency and circular economy initiatives remain central to Microsoft’s approach, with nearly all single-use plastics eliminated from product packaging and 92% of decommissioned servers reused or recycled. The company’s Circular Centers now operate in seven facilities worldwide, reflecting a broader shift toward solutions that reduce both emissions and resource demand across its value chain.
