Atlassian has launched Rovo for Microsoft 365, an integration that connects the Teamwork Graph—its unified map of work items, documentation, and code—to Microsoft Teams and Copilot. Teams can now search across their full project context, trigger Jira actions via natural language, and delegate tasks to AI agents without leaving the conversation. The integration builds on the existing Jira Cloud for Microsoft Teams app, which already supports notifications and quick actions for over a million users.
With Rovo active, users can type commands like "@Jira create a bug ticket for login failure" in Teams, and Jira will pre-fill details using the chat’s context. The system preserves dependencies, backlogs, and project history, reducing the need to switch between tools. Microsoft 365 Copilot can also query Rovo to retrieve answers or execute workflows directly within Teams, streamlining decision-making and execution.
The integration addresses a common challenge where work context is fragmented across siloed tools. By embedding Rovo into Microsoft’s collaboration suite, Atlassian aims to bridge the gap between where decisions are made and where work is tracked. Teams can now maintain focus while accessing real-time project data, whether managing sprints in Jira, drafting documents in Confluence, or coordinating in Teams.
Atlassian emphasizes that Rovo aligns with customer demand for AI capabilities that integrate into existing workflows. The move follows the popularity of the Jira Cloud for Microsoft Teams app, which now incorporates Rovo’s natural-language processing to accelerate task creation and assignment. The combined tools reduce friction between collaboration and project management, enabling faster execution of work.
