Mistral AI has consolidated its AI agent offerings into a single platform called Vibe, replacing the previous Le Chat interface. The service now supports long-running tasks such as inbox management, research, and document drafting, as well as coding workflows including feature development and pull requests. Vibe operates in two modes: Work Mode for multi-step enterprise tasks and Code Mode for remote coding sessions, with integrations for tools like VS Code and CLI. The platform is available in free, Pro, Team, and Enterprise plans, with pricing details to be confirmed at launch.
Work Mode enables users to delegate complex, multi-stage tasks to Vibe, which plans and executes workflows across connected applications like Google Workspace, Outlook, and Slack. The agent can draft reports, analyze structured data, and schedule recurring tasks, with progress visible in real time. Enterprise users benefit from deep integration with organizational tools and governance controls set at the admin level. Skills can be extended via open standards to automate repetitive workflows with sequential precision.
Code Mode introduces a dedicated web interface for remote coding sessions, allowing users to manage projects, initiate sessions, and oversee changes until pull requests are merged. Sessions run in isolated sandboxes, with users able to inspect code diffs and approve sensitive actions. The feature supports parallel sessions, persistence during offline periods, and triggers from third-party apps like Slack. A new VS Code extension integrates the coding agent directly into the IDE, enabling line-range selections, automatic file attachment, and context retrieval from other directories.
The Vibe CLI has been updated with additional session controls, while skills can be configured as slash commands for repeatable workflows. The platform emphasizes transparency, with every tool call and reasoning step expandable for review. Mistral AI states that Vibe is powered by flagship models optimized for reasoning, agentic tasks, and coding, with all existing Le Chat conversations, settings, and plans carried over to the new agent.
