Overwatch’s newest hero, Doctrine, was unveiled at BlizzCon, marking the first new Support-class character introduced alongside Sombra. Unlike traditional supports, Doctrine combines unconventional mechanics with a hybrid playstyle, blending healing and damage output. His kit includes abilities like a shift ability similar to Moira’s, a primary fire that can heal or damage, and an ultimate that both heals allies and weakens enemies. Doctrine’s second ability, Invigorating Drones, attaches to allies to boost their attack speed and healing output, particularly effective when paired with hitscan heroes like Soldier: 76 or Sojourn. This ability allows supports to indirectly influence damage output, a role traditionally reserved for DPS players.
