The game’s Netflix preview, *Grand Theft Auto 6: An Extended Look*, highlights a new method for stealing vehicles, including a prompt to use a slim jim instead of smashing a window, requiring precise controller inputs. This contrasts with GTA 5’s streamlined process, where players could force occupants out with a single button press or break a window with an elbow.

The upcoming installment will feature a tiered security system for vehicles, where pricier cars with advanced technology demand specific skills and tools to steal. Players will use a device called a “wank scanner” to assess a car’s security level and value before attempting theft. Some vehicles will require cloning electronic keys, while others may have tracking systems that alert authorities if the driver slows below a certain speed, incentivizing high-speed escapes.

A notable addition in GTA 6 is the ability to sell any stolen car, thanks to a fence system inspired by *Red Dead Redemption 2*. This introduces a lucrative side-hustle for players, adding economic depth to the theft mechanic.
