Major Skyrim Update Officially Comes to 'Elder Scrolls Online'

Bethesda Softworks has launched Season Two: Echoes of Skyrim for The Elder Scrolls Online, making previously paid expansions Greymoor and Wolfhunter accessible to all base-game owners at no additional cost. The season is available now on Mac, PlayStation, Windows PC, and Xbox, running through January 27, 2027. This move allows players to experience Western Skyrim, Solitude, and Blackreach without purchasing separate expansions, while also introducing new gameplay systems and content.

Greymoor, the headline addition, includes Western Skyrim exploration, the city of Solitude, and the Blackreach underground realm, alongside a full storyline, the Antiquities system, and the Kyne’s Aegis 12-player Trial. The Markarth DLC, completing the Dark Heart of Skyrim storyline, will join the base game on November 9. Solo versions of Moon Hunter Keep and March of Sacrifices dungeons are also available, featuring Hircine-themed challenges and new rewards for solo players, while the original four-player versions are accessible through the free Wolfhunter addition.

Season Two introduces the Tamriel Tome, offering free and premium reward tracks with collectibles, currencies, and items such as the Maarselok Slayer Mammoth mount. The Gold Coast Bazaar has refreshed its selection of returning rewards, and seasonal events include the Witches Festival, Whitestrake’s Mayhem, and the New Life Festival. Additional content will arrive later, including Skyrim- and Nowhere Vault-themed Golden Pursuits campaigns.

Update 52, scheduled for January 19, will bring quality-of-life improvements such as increased furnishing limits for select homes, expanded Companion customization options, and a new minimap interface option. The season provides a cost-free opportunity for players to revisit or explore Skyrim while awaiting The Elder Scrolls 6.
