Path of Exile 2 Sets The Stage For Massive Update Alongside December Launch
Path of Exile 2’s 1.0 launch on Dec. 11 completes its campaign with two new acts, introduces a stealth-focused Shadow class, and adds a major league with new endgame systems.
Grinding Gear Games unveiled at ExileCon 2026 the additions coming to Path of Exile 2 by its 1.0 launch next month, including a new Shadow class focused on stealth mechanics. The class allows players to deploy traps, chain kills to reset stealth cooldowns, and summon Shades to fight alongside them, expanding tactical options in combat.
The 1.0 update concludes the main campaign with Acts 5 and 6, adding 24 new areas and 18 new bosses to the game. This expansion significantly increases the narrative and exploration content available at launch, providing a more complete experience for players who complete the story.
Shadow players will have two new Ascendancy classes—Assassin and Infiltrator—while Duelist gains the Knight Ascendancy, featuring a squire companion and new abilities. Grinding Gear Games is also overhauling over 70 unique items, introducing 40 new ones, and expanding the Atlas Passive Tree with 70 additional nodes for endgame progression.
The Conquerors of Wraeclast league debuts alongside 1.0, introducing a reforging crafting system, independent commanders for Atlas missions, and faction-based castle sieges. Path of Exile 2’s 1.0 launch is scheduled for Dec. 11 across PlayStation 5, Windows PC, Xbox Series X, and Mac.
