Stardew Valley-inspired RPG Gets Shock Last-Minute Delay
The dark fantasy RPG Emberville, blending farming and dungeon crawling, delayed its Early Access launch from October 27 to January 7, 2027, citing needed improvements to bow combat and polish.
A dark fantasy RPG blending Stardew Valley-style farming with action-heavy dungeon crawling has delayed its Early Access launch by more than two months. Developer Cygnus Cross announced the change just one day before the originally scheduled October 27 release date. The team cited the need for additional time to incorporate player feedback from a recent Steam Next Fest demo and deliver a more polished experience.
Cygnus Cross explained that feedback prompted plans for several improvements, including extensive changes to bow combat. The developer stated that reworking bow combat would require more time than available before launch, even with the team working around the clock. Rather than release the game on schedule and address concerns later, the team chose to delay the launch to incorporate essential improvements into the initial Early Access version.
The revised release will now launch on January 7, 2027, and will also include content originally planned for the first major post-launch update. Cygnus Cross acknowledged the disappointment for players ready to purchase the game and emphasized their commitment to meeting high standards and player expectations.
Emberville is set in a ruined underground world called the Vitromotus, where players awaken without memories and must escape while rebuilding the titular town. Unlike Stardew Valley, the game emphasizes combat and dungeon crawling, featuring weapon crafting, potion brewing, and a class-based progression system. Resources gathered during dungeon runs help improve equipment and expand the homestead.
