The Sims 4's Next Update Will Make Your Sims Act a Lot More Naturally
The Sims 4’s September 22 update introduces autonomy-focused changes to make Sim behaviors more realistic, alongside bug fixes and relationship balance adjustments.
The next Sims 4 update, scheduled for September 22 at 1 p.m. ET, focuses on enhancing Sim autonomy with more natural behaviors. Key adjustments include Sims making eye contact during conversations, using nearby sinks after bathroom use, and walking faster when their Bladder Need is low. These changes aim to reduce unrealistic actions and improve immersion in gameplay.
The update also addresses persistent technical issues, such as fixing the Gallery’s failure to load search results and improving game stability by addressing crash reports. Developers reviewed player feedback to identify and resolve errors causing instability, with the goal of preventing similar problems in future patches.
Relationship dynamics in the game are receiving significant balance changes to address rapid decay in satisfaction. Sims in strained relationships will now avoid each other, skipping autonomous socialization and ending conversations quickly. This adjustment seeks to reflect more realistic interpersonal interactions within the game.
In addition to gameplay and stability improvements, the update includes minor but meaningful adjustments to Sim routines. Sims with low Energy Need will sleep through the night instead of waking for random activities, further aligning their behavior with real-world expectations. Players can download the update across all platforms at the scheduled release time.
