Ubisoft Issues Official Update on Fate of Future Assassin's Creed Remakes

Ubisoft’s 2024 remarks by CEO Yves Guillemot suggested multiple Assassin’s Creed remakes were planned, but the company has now clarified its stance. In a Thursday update, Ubisoft stated no other remakes are actively in development, despite fan demand. The announcement redirects attention to upcoming new entries in the franchise, including undisclosed projects with fresh settings and narratives.

While ruling out active remake development, Ubisoft left the door open for future revisits to classic titles. The company emphasized its ongoing exploration of opportunities to bring older games back, echoing the Assassin’s Creed mantra: 'Nothing is true, everything is permitted.' This suggests remakes or rereleases remain a possibility, though not currently a priority.

Ubisoft also provided updates on two unannounced projects. Assassin’s Creed Invictus, a PvP multiplayer game, recently concluded a private playtest with hundreds of participants. The team reported a positive response and is refining the game based on feedback to better align with core Assassin’s Creed elements.

Another project, codenamed Hexe, is progressing steadily but remains shrouded in mystery. Ubisoft shared minimal details, noting only that it is a darker title with no major update expected until 2027. The company also teased a cryptic message tied to Hexe, leaving fans to speculate about its meaning.
