Mova, a Chinese energy storage provider, has launched the LumeGret S5000, a residential system that combines rooftop solar generation, battery storage, household electricity consumption, and electric vehicle charging into a single unit. The system integrates an inverter with four maximum power point trackers (MPPTs), supporting up to 4.8 kW of combined solar input across a voltage range of 13 V to 48 V. It can be paired with Mova’s LumeGret B3000G and B5000G lithium iron phosphate battery modules, offering storage capacities of 3 kWh and 5 kWh, respectively, with expandable total capacities of 15 kWh and 25 kWh.

The S5000 supports grid-connected AC output of 800 W by default, with a maximum configurable output of 3 kW, and provides up to 3 kW of off-grid output with a bypass rating of 3.6 kW. It operates within a temperature range of -20 C to 55 C, features IP65 protection, a 10-year warranty, and a 20-year design lifespan. The system includes self-heating and aerosol fire-extinguishing functions, and measures 480 mm × 290 mm × 168.4 mm while weighing 14.8 kg.

For electric vehicle owners, the S5000 can be paired with Mova’s optional LumeGret E7000 charger, which supports charging at up to 7 kW when sufficient power is available. The system allows EV charging management through the Movahome app, enabling users to set charging schedules, power levels, and energy priorities. It offers manual and automated charging modes, including smart charging that uses electricity price data from approximately 860 providers to optimize schedules.

The smart charging feature can pause charging during high electricity prices or prioritize it when grid power is cheaper, and supports charging during periods of negative electricity prices. A solar-surplus charging function automatically initiates EV charging when excess PV generation exceeds 500 W. The system supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and RS485 communication, with optional accessories including smart meters, EV chargers, and smart plugs. Pricing and commercial availability details have not been disclosed.
