Hyundai Motor Group Launches AllDayEnergy, Its Global V2X Service
Hyundai Motor Group launched AllDayEnergy, a unified global V2X energy service integrating existing bidirectional charging solutions under one brand, starting in the UK via the Kia App in Q2 2026.
Hyundai Motor Group announced the launch of AllDayEnergy, a new global Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) energy service that consolidates the Group’s existing V2X offerings under a single identity. The service will initially focus on V1G smart charging before expanding to Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) and Vehicle-to-Home (V2H) capabilities. Hyundai plans to begin rollout in the UK through the Kia App in the second quarter of 2026, with subsequent expansion to Europe, the U.S., and Korea.
AllDayEnergy enables bidirectional energy flow between electric vehicles and the grid, allowing EVs to function as mobile energy storage systems. Customers can charge vehicles during low-cost periods, store energy for later use, or supply it back to the grid or home when needed. This technology supports cost management, household energy needs, and participation in utility energy programs, depending on regional availability and service type.
The Group has already tested V2X services in multiple regions, including V2G pilot programs in Korea’s Jeju Special Self-Governing Province, V2H emergency backup power deployments in the U.S. during wildfires, and V2G and smart charging services in the Netherlands that adjust charging based on dynamic electricity prices. AllDayEnergy will be integrated into Hyundai Motor and Kia vehicle apps, with the UK Kia App serving as the initial launch platform later this year.
The AllDayEnergy name reflects the Group’s goal of integrating smart energy management into daily life and advancing its transition into a smart energy solutions provider. The service will expand to additional markets following the initial UK rollout, with Hyundai Motor Group positioning itself as a provider of connected energy services alongside its mobility offerings.
