RBI launches the September 2026 round of the Inflation Expectations Survey of Households
The Reserve Bank of India announced the launch of the September 2026 Inflation Expectations Survey of Households to gather price movement assessments across 19 cities.
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) announced the launch of the September 2026 round of the Inflation Expectations Survey of Households (IESH). This survey is conducted periodically to capture household perceptions on price movements and inflation. The exercise aims to collect qualitative and quantitative responses on expected price changes over three-month and one-year horizons.
The survey will cover 19 cities, including Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Delhi, Mumbai, and Kolkata, among others. Participants will provide assessments on general prices as well as specific product groups. The results will serve as inputs for monetary policy decisions by the RBI.
The survey is being conducted by M/s Hansa Research Group Pvt. Ltd., Mumbai, on behalf of the RBI. Selected households will be approached directly by the agency for responses. Individuals not contacted can still participate by submitting responses via the linked survey schedule.
