RBI launches the September 2026 round of Urban Consumer Confidence Survey
The Reserve Bank of India announced the launch of the September 2026 Urban Consumer Confidence Survey to gather household sentiment on economic conditions, employment, prices, income, and spending across 19 cities.
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has initiated the September 2026 round of the Urban Consumer Confidence Survey (UCCS), continuing its regular assessment of household perceptions. The survey targets qualitative responses from residents in urban areas regarding the general economic situation, employment conditions, price levels, household income, and spending patterns. Conducted periodically, the UCCS aims to capture evolving consumer sentiment to inform policy decisions. The RBI has engaged M/s Hansa Research Group Pvt. Ltd., Mumbai, to oversee the survey process and data collection.
The survey will be conducted in 19 designated cities, including Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Delhi, Mumbai, and Kolkata, among others. Selected households in these cities will be approached directly by the survey agency for their responses. The RBI emphasizes the importance of participation to ensure representative data for monetary policy formulation. The agency will collect responses through structured interactions with households to gather detailed insights.
Individuals not contacted by the agency can still participate by submitting their responses via an online survey schedule linked on the RBI’s official channels. The survey schedule allows respondents to provide their feedback electronically, ensuring broader accessibility. The RBI encourages voluntary participation to enhance the survey’s comprehensiveness and accuracy. Responses can be submitted through the designated email contact provided in the survey details.
The RBI has provided contact details for queries or clarifications regarding the survey. Respondents or interested parties may reach out to the Division of Household Surveys at the RBI’s Mumbai office for assistance. The survey results are expected to offer critical inputs for shaping monetary policy decisions. The RBI has outlined specific contact information, including phone numbers and an email address, for further communication or to send completed survey schedules.
