Helldivers 2 isn't slowing down any time soon, and according to Edwin's recent interview with Arrowhead CCO Johan Pilestedt, it'll continue to be Arrowhead's main priority for the future.

Helldivers 2’s next update introduces a new Terminid subspecies called the Noxious Terminids, adding further challenges for players. The first variant, the Noxious Scavenger, moves rapidly and carries deadly poison but remains fragile. Area-of-effect weapons like flamethrowers and explosives are advised to neutralize these large insects before they overwhelm teams.

The Noxious Spewer, a larger variant, combines speed with a web projectile that immobilizes Helldivers, leaving them vulnerable to fatal bites. Shooting its soft underbelly triggers a violent explosion, spreading web fluid over a wide area. The poison from these creatures inflicts a damage-over-time effect, causing blurred vision, slowed movement, and health depletion.

The update expands bug caves to more worlds, forcing Helldivers into claustrophobic tunnels with limited visibility and dead ends. Super Earth’s guidance emphasizes locating and eliminating invasive species, framing the mission as a galactic sterilization effort. The directive humorously notes that ammunition is cheaper than antivenom.

Arrowhead’s Chief Creative Officer Johan Pilestedt confirmed Helldivers 2 remains the studio’s top priority. The game’s ongoing development ensures continued content updates and expansions to sustain player engagement and challenge.
