Omnia Training Selected to Deliver £2bn Army Training Contract

Omnia Training, a consortium including Capita, Cervus, Rheinmetall UK, and Skyral, has been awarded a £2 billion, 15-year contract by the UK Ministry of Defence to act as the British Army’s Strategic Training Partner. The contract covers the delivery of the Army’s Collective Training Service (ACTS), replacing traditional training methods with a digitally integrated system. This initiative aims to enhance soldiers’ operational readiness by providing flexible, modern training environments that simulate real-world scenarios. The partnership will support the British Army in adapting to evolving warfare demands through advanced, data-driven approaches.

The consortium, led by Raytheon UK, will develop and implement the ACTS using a combination of virtual, synthetic, and data-driven environments. This system is designed to upgrade live exercises by integrating immersive technologies, enabling training to occur in any location and at any time. The initiative is expected to create 270 new jobs and sustain an additional 150 positions, primarily within the UK. Omnia Training will leverage UK-developed technology and collaborate with local partners to deliver realistic, adversarial training scenarios tailored to modern combat requirements.

James Gray, Managing Director and Chief Executive of Raytheon UK, highlighted the consortium’s three-year effort to establish Omnia Training as a provider of advanced training systems for the British Army. The team, comprising engineers, innovators, and experts, will focus on delivering training realism and fostering collaboration between military and industry stakeholders. The contract underscores the UK’s commitment to investing in sovereign defence capabilities and strengthening the domestic defence sector through innovation and job creation.

Raytheon UK, part of RTX’s Raytheon business, is a key supplier to the UK Ministry of Defence, specializing in defence and space technologies. The company’s role in the ACTS contract aligns with its broader mission to advance training transformation services and invest in research and development.
