Samsung Electronics announced two new smartwatches on July 22, 2026: the Galaxy Watch Ultra2 and Galaxy Watch9. Both devices integrate AI to convert biometric data into personalized health guidance, supporting Samsung’s shift toward proactive healthcare. The Ultra2 targets outdoor enthusiasts with a slimmer titanium design, a 5,000-nit display, and a 35% larger battery at 800 mAh. The Watch9 focuses on everyday wellness with a lightweight aluminum casing and the Snapdragon Wear Elite platform, offering continuous activity and sleep monitoring.
The Galaxy Watch Ultra2 includes specialized tracking for trail running, hydration alerts, and professional diving support with IP69K and 10 ATM ratings. It features ascent and descent speed tracking, water temperature monitoring, and an exclusive Ultra2 Diving app expected later in 2026. The device’s 5,000-nit display ensures visibility in sunlight, while its 800 mAh battery and Snapdragon Wear Elite platform deliver extended performance. The Ultra2’s design is 12% thinner than its predecessor, balancing rugged durability with improved comfort for 24/7 wear.
The Galaxy Watch9 is available in 40 mm and 44 mm sizes with aluminum casings and soft-touch bands for all-day comfort. Powered by the Snapdragon Wear Elite platform and a 390 mAh battery, it supports continuous health monitoring with a 3,000-nit display. The watch includes advanced features such as Sleep Apnea, Vitals, Heart Health Score, and Fitness Index, translating complex data into actionable insights. Samsung states these capabilities are developed with clinical research from leading universities and medical institutions.
Both watches will be available for pre-order on July 22, 2026, with general release on August 7, 2026. The Ultra2 comes in 47 mm sizes in Titanium Silver or Titanium Gray, while the Watch9 offers 40 mm and 44 mm options in Cream, Graphite, and Silver. Samsung Care+ provides protection plans, including repairs and extended warranties, accessible via the Warranty and Care menu on Galaxy phones running One UI 9.
